Presentation: Modeling an Industrial Structure using GTSTRUDL 2015 and CAD Modeler

An industrial structure is modeled using the new CAD environment of GTSTRUDL. The structural model is a combination of frame members and shell finite elements. Finite elements are generated using both unstructured meshing, within polylines, and structured meshing, between four lines. All structural data are entered in the CAD environment, including frame members, joints, supports, loadings and load combinations. Loadings include joints loads, member loads, element loads and are combined forming load combinations ready to be used for steel design. Analysis and steel design results are loaded for post-processing.
